WEC Pay Per View Next Year

Dana White has announced that WEC will be airing programming on pay-per-view, this according to Yahoo! Sports. The WEC entrance would increase an already crowded pay-per-view venue but the WEC has a decided advantage in that it uses the same marketing engine that powers the number one MMA promotion in the world, the UFC.

Here’s the quote,

“We have a track record and all you have to do is see what we’ve done in the past to know what we’re going to do with this thing. There are a lot of moving parts right now. I have a million and one things on my plate. But I know this: The WEC is stacked with talent and there are a lot of exciting fights that we can make.

“We’re going to do what we do and market the (expletive) out of this and build it day by day. The fighters are there, too, believe me. We’re not new at this thing.”

Some would argue that WEC is moving into position to become the second most successful MMA promotion which would make Zuffa all the more powerful. WEC has shown increased viewership and boasts several top tier fighters including pound for pound top 10 Urijah Faber.
