CSAC Says That Aleksander Emelianenko Will Never Fight In United States

CSAC(California State Athletic Commission) official Bill Douglas recently appeared on the Figure Four Daily radio show and candidly talked about the situation with Affliction fighter Aleksander Emelianenko, who recently was denied medical clearance before his scheduled fight at Affliction: Banned.

Douglas spoke plainly, saying :

“The one thing that I can absolutely say is that he (Aleksander) was not and will not be cleared to fight in California. He is officially licensed denied and that will stand for all of the United States of America”.

Douglas could not elaborate on why Emelianenko was denied licensing, but most MMA insiders have speculated it has to do with rumors concerning Hepatitis B. The MMA News first reported the rumors and the subsequent denial by Emelianenko but there’s certainly more to the situation than is being let on by Emelianenko.

While not completely known to all North American MMA fans, Aleksander Emelianenko’s style of fighter proves to be a fan favorite, and many were hopeful to see the world top 10 heavyweight compete within the larger, Affliction ring. However, that has been put on hold, and as far as CSAC is concerned, will never happen.
