IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson and IFL light-heavyweight champion Vladimir Matyushenko have signed to compete at Affliction "Day of Reckoning" in Las Vegas on October 11.
Nelson and Matyushenko are scheduled to attend a press conference for the event Wednesday at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Sources have told MMAFighting.com that Nelson (13-2) and Matyushenko (21-3)'s opponents will be Xtreme Couture's Jay White and PRIDE veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (14-3), respectively.
Matyushenko, who is riding an eight-fight winning streak, holds a unanimous decision win over Nogueira from the one-shot UFO "Legend" event in August 2002.
Nelson has won his last five fights, four of which were by (T)KO. "Big Country" made a name for himself in the IFL when he almost toppled Miletich fighter Ben Rothwell. When Rothwell exited the promotion for greener pastures, Nelson stormed through the division to capture the IFL heavyweight belt.
