Mickey Martinez vs Roy Arriola bout for PFC 8 is officially off

(PFC Forums)
"Unfortunately, Roy "Hitboy" Arriola has suffered an injury in training that is preventing him from training at the necessary levels to:

A) Make the contracted weight in time of the fight and most importantly,

B) Train in a manner in which he is not having to starve himself and take unecessary measures in order to make weight and be in good physical condition to compete at the PFC level.

After speaking with Roy's trainer and communicating with Roy, we agree that this is the logical course of action at this time. Roy still has quite a bit of weight to cut, and I believe had he not suffered this injury he would have made the 175 lb limit. However, with this injury he will not be able to make weight..the right way. I know many people will be upset, and we extend our deepest regrets to Mickey Martinez who has been training very hard and is already on weight for the bout. We know both guys we're looking forward to the bout and we will aim to reschedule it on a future show. At this time no determination has been made as to whether Mickey Martinez will remain on the card or not, as he has fought multiple times already this year and might want to give his body a rest. We'll have more information for everyone as the picture clears up a bit."

The Mickey Martinez vs Roy Arriola bout for PFC 8 is officially off.

"In a nut shell....the owner/conditining coach of team carnage called christian without my knowledge and suggested we post pone the fight for later this yr. Due to an injury they noticed while running conditioining drills. They advised christian i was approx 205 and my injury was preventing me to train at the level i needed to. After a meeting with my coach they advised me that i was being pulled out of rotations and my training was being cut. I did not agree with the decision and was very upset. I immediately called mickey and we talked about moving the fight to sept. Mickey agreed..i have a great team full of exp and they do not want to put a product out in the ring/cage that can not compete at a high level. I respect that and have no choice but to accept their decision.it would not be an issue to still make the weight but the concern of the team is that i would not be in fighting shape..i have talked to mickey/my coach/christian/ and we have agreed that moving the fight is in the best interest for evryone"
