IFL Fighters Weigh In

Outside the box office at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT it’s beginning to feel like home, as fighters gathered for the weigh-ins of International Fight League’s fourth event at the Connecticut casino, to be held Friday night. Action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with a live HDNet Broadcast starting at 8:30 p.m.

There are six preliminary bouts on the card with three title defenses, making a total of nine fights on the evening.

All went smoothly on the scales until Josh Souder missed weight on his first try. The Connecticut State Athletic Commission allows one hour from the time a fighter initially steps on the scale to make weight. But Souder was anxious to drop his drawers in front of the crowd that had gathered, to quickly cut the remaining ounces. He used his better judgment and kept his Boxer Joes around his waist, then retreated backstage to work off the weight the old fashioned way.
