HDNet to air DREAM events in North America
HDNet, the all-high-definition cable channel owned by Mark Cuban, announced on Friday that it'll begin airing DREAM events for U.S. and Canadian audiences.
The news was announced on the "Inside MMA" weekly news program.
DREAM, a Japanese-based organization born out of K-1 HERO's (K-1's former MMA arm) and former staffers of the now-defunct PRIDE Fighting Championships, can be watched on HDNet beginning this coming Friday, May 2.
DREAM 1 (which took place March 15) and DREAM 2 (which takes place this coming Monday) air May 2 and May 3 respectively. The broadcasts begin at 10:30 p.m. ET. The first event featured fighters such as Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Gesias Calvancante, Tatsuya Kawajiri and Eddie Alvarez.
Future events will reportedly air either the same day or on short delays.
News of the DREAM-HDNet deal comes just days after the Tokyo Broadcasting System decided to end its deal with the upstart promotion due to low ratings. The Japanese-based TV station was considered a crucial part of the organization's structure, and DREAM is now finalizing a deal with SkyPerfecTV.
DREAM will now be presented by the HDNet Fights brand. In addition to promoting its own fight events, HDNet Fights has teamed up with organizationa such as Strikeforce, the IFL, SportFight and other top promotions.

DREAM 2 -- Saturday, May 3
DREAM 3 -- Sunday, May 11
